In 2007, a tiny black kitten was found in the gutter covered in fleas...literally. He was so infested they were in his eyes, and weighing less than a pound, he was too small for a flea bath. Malnourished and kind of pitiful, he was this teeny body with a giant head and piercing green eyes. One look into those gorgeous eyes and I melted. I agreed to take him home if he stayed small, sweet and quiet. He silently agreed...Once I got him home, he turned into the devil...the literal devil. You name it, PJ destroyed it. Broken dishes, torn up papers, eaten shoe laces, shredded paper towels, etc. We even found him locked in the fridge one time (still don't know how he got in there!). However, PJ's biggest problem was that he peed...EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING!! Literally. Destroyed clothes, couches, carpets, homework, lamps, you name it...he peed on it. Aside from that, he NEVER calmed down, whether it was running around like a herd of elephants, scaling the doorframes, opening cupboards, ripping out the bottoms of the couches to hide his toys, etc..ETC, he was quite active. (haha) Everyone asked how I could keep him, but I had made him a promise and I stuck by it. Last June, right after his 5th Birthday, he developed a urinary blockage from his peeing problem, which turned into kidney failure and despite all the vet's efforts, he passed away. :(
In July 2012, I decided to open an affordable lingerie company, and while deciding on a name, decided to honor my late fur baby. Remembering how one day at work I kept smelling cat pee and couldn't figure out where it was coming from...I had finally realized it was my bra! PJ had peed all over a pile of lingerie of mine that were waiting to be laundered on my bedroom floor. Remembering this and laughing, PJ's Playthings was born! Hoping your fur friends don't pee on your lingerie, but if they do, I sell affordable ones to replace your inventory! Purrr to MEOW!
